Welcome to an introspective into the History and Inovations of motorcycles and trikes. We are here to share with you some tips, tricks, and good information you should know about you favorite motorcycle or trike.
Sometimes the question is what you want to ride. Here are some helpful links to help you buy A Motorcycle, a Trike, or a Motorcycle with a Sidecar.
There is nothing in the world like riding in the wind on the winged wheels of a motorcycle. Even a Trike cannot give you the feel of a motorcycle, but it comes real close. With a motorcycle you feel like you are in flight with all the sounds, smells and sights whirling about you as time passes with the wind. Leaning into corners on 2 wheels feels like you are defeating gravity and it launches a flow of "G" forces on the machine which the rider feels and controls. A typical trike does not lean, but other than the leaning I think driving a trike can be just as exhilarating. There are actually a few trikes that lean. Trikes are highly customizable - even the configeration of a trike can be contriversial. Take for example the 2 wheels front/1 wheel rear trike (2F1R). There is an overwhelming number of these Reverse Trikes currently on the market. (There is even one in the classified For Sale section of this website).
A huge industry has developed to support todays motorcycles and trikes. From an enormous array of vehicles including all sorts of replacement parts and designer apparel. Most common improvements tend to be custom seats, fancy tires and wheels, or brake disks and even clothing and electronics. The OEM parts and clothing and accessories as well as the aftermarket industry has exploded. There is little you can't change or add to your motorcycle or trike.
Trikes and Motorcycle popularity and sales have flourished time and agian since the first motorcycle was created in the late 1800's. With the beginning of the fuel crisis of 2006 Motorcycles and Trikes gained another boost of interest because of the excellent miles per gallon factor. Small units can get as much or more than 90 mpg and even large motorcycles and trikes still get much better mpg than a 4 wheeler.
Economy has driven the 2 & 3 wheel industry as it does everything else, but intrieg and custom built motorcycles and trikes have kept the industry growing. Many individuals have created a single product for thier own personal riding needs which in turn lead to the cottage industry we call "aftermarket". Aftermarket products are offered to replace OEM (original equipment manufacture), parts as well as Aftermarket which are unique creative products or improvement products that OEM just didn't think about or did not support.
